I love homemade iced tea – not only can you spice it up with a variety of different fair or ethically traded teas, Earl Grey is one of my faves – but I also like Green Tea Iced Tea. You can also control the amount of sugar and reduced the amount of additives. Ingredients 2 Tea bags or 2 TBSP of your favorite fair or ethically traded tea in one of those tea balls used for infusing 4 cups of[...]

Generally speaking, I enjoy Bob’s Red Mill products. I’m a pretty big fan of their soup mixes and their popcorn. So when Ewan graduated from their Scotch Oats to ‘big boy oatmeal’, I thought I’d check out their seven grain hot cereal. I’m sorry to say that Ewan and I were both most disappointed with the result. Ugh. All was not lost however! The great thing about grains is that they can always be turned into tasty muffins. And this[...]

Do you know what’s in your freezer?  Most of us don’t… and we end up wasting money because of it.  It’s not that you don’t *have* anything to make for dinner, it’s just that you can’t *find* it under the seven loaves of bread you bought on sale last week, and the huge ice-cream-sandwich box from last summer that only has two sandwiches left in it.  It’s tough to keep track of everything, especially in a big chest freezer, but[...]

I’m not sure why I don’t make these more often. They are such a big hit! We had them last night and before I could take a picture, they were all gone! I hope your family likes them as much as we do. Ingredients: 3 or more medium to large sweet potatoes Olive oil Salt & pepper to taste Directions: 1. Preheat your oven to 450F. 2. Peel the sweet potatoes and slice into 0.5 – 1 cm slices. That’s[...]
