Think the family will notice that they are eating Brussel Sprouts when they taste this good?

Ingredients

1 pound of Brussel Sprouts

3 small onions

1 tbsp Olive Oil

1 tsp. sugar

Salt & pepper, to taste

1/4 cup chopped pistachios

Start by putting your pistachios spread out on a pan and put them in the oven for 2 – 3 minutes are 350 degrees until they are very lightly roasted. There are many ways to do this but becareful as they burn very easily! Once they are cooked and cooled chop up the pistachios alittle. This releases a bit of flavor! Set aside.

Chop your brussel sprouts in half and place them into a pan. Take your Olive Oil and drizzle it over the brussel sprouts. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. I always end up putting a fair amount of pepper on the brussel sprouts as it end up adding a lot of flavor. Toss everything so the brussel sprouts are well coded with olive oil, salt and pepper. Place this in the oven for 20 minutes at 450 degree’s. We like our brussel sprouts alittle crispy so we end up putting them in for longer. Play it by ear.

While the brussel sprouts are cooking chop up the onion and place them into a frying pan on medium heat. Add alittle olive oil before hand if you normally use it. We use organic onions so I find they don’t need any oil in the pan. When the onions are almost done add your sugar, this will caramelize the onions.

Once the brussel sprouts are cooked add in the onion mixture and pistachios. Mix and serve!!

Maranda just pointed me to these. I have to admit I’m not a brussel sprouts fan, but I am a roasted veggies fan! Will have to give these a try.
